What Does Your Favorite Color Say About You?

Almost everyone has a favorite color; some people may even have a few favorite colors. We surround ourselves with the color we favor by painting the walls in our house, wearing clothing, and even purchasing cars of our chosen color. Little did you know perhaps, that your favorite color can say a lot about you. You can get quite an idea of what is going on inside someone (or yourself) just by looking at their color choices. This is attributed to the idea that although some colors invoke a feeling that is a socially learned response (such as black being the sign of mourning), most of the colors we chose and feel a certain way about are made subconsciously.

Notice that sales establishments, be they fast food restaurants, electronics stores, or department stores, chose bright colors to lure your in to place of business. Obviously, the meaning of and socially learned responses of colors can vary by culture. Based on western culture though, these are the meanings and feelings that represent each of the colors.

If your favorite color is red, you are a passionate person. You are energetic and desire to maintain a busy lifestyle. Strength is something you utilize to obtain the many things you crave. Obtaining power is a goal that ranks high in your life and you are intense about reaching your goals. You like excitement and may be a risk taker. You may find yourself aggressive when agitated. Falling victim to lust is a position you may find yourself in frequently.

If gold is your favorite color, you are likely an active person. Energy is something you are never lacking of. You are usually wise when it comes to finances and strive to obtain wealth. You attract happiness and are an understanding, intelligent person. You are deliberate in your actions while being mindful of your decision.

You are strong and can endure life's hardships and you find comfort in the small things. People see you as friendly and easygoing, but sometimes a little boring.

As you can see, colors mean a lot more than you might have thought. Researchers and scientists have been studying colors for years to find out how they affect your life and your decisions. Companies pour money into research every year before deciding which colors to choose for their logos and in their stores. Although each description may not fit you perfectly, they fit the main stream of people. No two people are alike, but you would be surprised at just how many similarities you may share with another person who also likes your favorite color.
