Upon professing Jesus Christ you now begin the process of giving your life over to Him! Many do not realize that now as children of God our lives no longer belong to us. This is why it is so important to get to know Him through His WORD! "...Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's" I CORINTHIANS 6
We all have inherited a sin nature due to the original sin of Adam and Eve. Because of this we have a natural proclivity towards sin. What is sin? Sin is anything that separates us from God; basically we miss the mark! When your conscious is sensitive towards God you desire to live to please Him! As a child of God whenever you sin we have an advocate, when sin beckons we can "Call upon Jesus!" You readily confess, repent and then move once again toward the mark. We ALL need a Savior to save us from the power of sin reigning in our lives. We cannot earn our way to heaven! Because of God's Love for us, He has made a way back to Him to restore the relationship that He originally intended. We have been extended the "gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ! Salvation is by Faith! "Therefore having been justified by FAITH, we have PEACE with GOD through our Lord Jesus CHRIST."
Spiritual growth and development for us as children of God is an ongoing life long process! His Word is Bread from Heaven! It is the "Manna" we need in order to grow spiritually! It contains a plethora of wise counsel! It is in His Word we can find direction for our daily lives. God has given us the ability to choose. You can choose God 's WAY, your way or the way of the world? Since we are created in His Image we were created to be a reflection of Him and to embrace and live by His principles! God knows exactly where each one of us are, and what we need. He accepts us as we are. But He does not expect us to stay as we are! As we grow spiritually and walk humbly with Him, He illuminates our path! "His Word is a lamp unto our feet and a Light unto our path." Although our positions vary we are all of equal value to the Lord. God has given each of us gifts. Our gifts are to be used to further His kingdom.
God LOVES us; for He is LOVE! He does not leave us alone to figure life out. The interesting paradox is that in our weaknesses we are made strong by Him. God can use whoever He so desires! Our body is a Temple! His power comes alive in us! As we study, and apply His Word we can become stronger spiritually! His Holy Spirit residing within us brings about a wonderful metamorphosis! Each believer is sealed with the promise of His Holy Spirit! The Fruit of His Spirit grows and becomes apparent in our lives. The Fruit of His Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control! We must remain connected to the vine for His Fruit to flourish in our lives. We never get to the place that we can do without God.
There is a wonderful PEACE when God is in our lives! Yet, we cannot avoid trials or crisis. Conflict in life is inevitable! This is what also opens the doors of intimacy with the Lord! It is during these times we can TRUST GOD and allow Him to work His wonders! He can and will usher us safely through. Absorbing and implementing the Word of God in our lives helps us to TRUST Him and builds our FAITH! His Word contains invaluable wisdom and spiritual insight! We must worship God through our trials! We can and should delight ourselves in the Lord! "True worshippers worship Him in Spirit and in TRUTH!" Worship is our highest expression of our love for Him! He alone is worthy of all the praise! To GOD Be The GLORY!
You can count on God; He is true to His Word! I pray that you have been encouraged! If you do not know Him, now is a good time to invite Him into your heart! He is always a prayer away! "HE WILL NEVER LEAVE NOR FORSAKE YOU!" The wonderful thing about God is we can always be assured of His constant presence! "Yet in ALL these things we are more than conquerors through HIM who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor death, nor any other created thing can separate us from the Love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 8. What is it that the Lord requires of us? HIS WORD asks and then says: "And what does the Lord require of you?To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our GOD." MICAH 6
