What does it take to earn a living online and is it possible?

The answer to the second question is of course yes!

The answer to the first is something else.

Before we go any further no fortune will be made overnight and while trying to make a legitimate fortune you will have to negotiate a minefield of promises, scams and experience much heartache. It does not matter what these so called internet marketing millionaires are offering you, please do your homework first. If an offer sounds too good to be true it probably is, if an offer asks for an up-front payment don't on any account give it them.

With the above in-mind just picture yourself going for an everyday interview lets say to be a bus driver. You arrive at the designated place dressed in your best clothes ready to strut your stuff and the first words out of the interviewers mouth is, welcome before we go any further we do require a $50.00 interview fee. What would you really do? Stay there, I don't think so you would get up and leave. This also applies to internet marketing if they want you to help there business then it is for free no charge should apply to you. Always remember they want you and you didn't contact them first. Do not make the same mistake as most of us did when first starting out on the Internet do your homework first.

The second mistake most of us make is by creating a website in two days and then fill it with adverts and then everyday we check to see how much we have made. Yes you will probably earn a couple of cents but definitely not enough to make a living on. One of the important things to do in creating a good website is to build customer confidence in it this should be your number one priority and nothing else the adverts can come later.

I love to use a personal image of myself on the website (even though I am not the best looking guy in town) but I feel this adds that personal touch to the site, after all I myself like to see the guy I am buying from.

Another mistake that some of us make is finding an affiliate program that sounds so great we jump on it without really thinking. Then once signed up we log in each day and check how many referrals we got the night before. Then after a few weeks we are amazed to find we have over 100 signups. What a program we say to ourselves at last I'm going to become a millionaire my worries are over. Then one dark bleak morning you go into one of the free forum sites only to find out that this great program you are promoting in your name now is one of the biggest scams on the internet. My friends once this happens it will take you years to get your credibility back.

If I can end saying a successful website is like a child it needs nurturing and it needs lots of love. Keep at it and in time you will reap the benefits. Don't be tempted to go the easy way for as the Beatles said "It's a long and winding Road" but that doesn't mean it should not be a happy one.

Kind Regards
