What the Drug Companies Don't Want You to Know

The addiction to prescription drugs by Americans is big business and the drug czars don't just come from Columbia anymore.

It seems everything these days is considered a "disease" that can magically be treated with the medication du jour your doctor prescribes. Like a common street pusher he addicts you to the medications and convinces you that you now need these magic pills to survive, sometimes for the rest of your life.

Like a lemming, you hypnotically follow your doctor's orders, believing these pills will make you all better and how could you possibly put a price on your health, right? After all, your doctor is a professional, and if your jonesing for his wares enough, you would find a way to pay, whatever the price.

But most prescription drugs are nothing more than a counterfeit of the same thing offered in nature, as evidenced by the testimony of Dr. Edwin Cooper, professor at the University of California. He states that "several valuable drugs have been derived from parts of plant and animal sources, including aspirin, anti-cancer agents, anti-psychotics and antibiotics/

Yet the big drug companies, whose profits are reaching historical levels, don't want you to know this for rather obvious reasons. People taking natural remedies would hit the drug pusher's profits hard, but they brought that mistrust on themselves. Excessive drug cost to consumers is forcing people to look for alternative cures.

Case in point; the mysterious bird flu scare that was causing such mass hysteria that people were scared into seeking the preventive measure that would inoculate the dreaded symptoms. Do you think the pharmaceutical company, Roche, made a few bucks on the deal? Tamiflu earned them over $2 billion.

The promised global pandemic was headed off by the quick thinking and marketing programs of this one drug czar. Thank God for them.

Personally, I think that the post hypnotic suggestions that was shown on every newscast was a tremendous marketing ploy that had people flocking to their doctor's office It was ingenious from a business standpoint, but I would love to see the results of what would have happened if no one was scared into seeking out this cure for an imaginary problem.

Another example: acid reflux "disease."

O.K. now when did heartburn turn into a disease? Answer: when drug companies realized they could make money from it. It used to be that if one got heartburn, it was controlled by a couple of Tums or similar antacid product that you can buy for less than $1. But the pharmaceutical companies weren't making enough money from that so they instead call it a disease now and offer several prescription drugs for relief, that you must now take as a daily medication.

This daily medication regimen makes the drug companies billions of dollars every year. When in reality, excess heartburn can be immediately relieved by simply eating a pickle or drinking a teaspoon of vinegar. Problem solved.

Many people are now taking anti-depressants of one kind or another, some on a combination of them, when by making certain dietary changes; people can control and eliminate the symptoms of depression. Some things that can help are apples, milk and honey, asparagus and cashews, that affect your nervous system. But these things would not make the pharmaceutical companies any money. Not one red cent.

Yet the estimates of fatalities directly attributed to adverse reactions to drugs prescribed in your hospital is the fourth leading cause of death, surpassing pneumonia and diabetes. But the pharmaceutical companies continue to come up with new and experimental drugs and feed them to unsuspecting patients with a laundry list of possible side effects.

The science that is responsible for alternative medicines has progressed a great deal over the last decade and the pharmaceutical companies are getting nervous because, with escalating prescription costs, people are in fact looking into herbs to take as an alternative to the high priced medications. It is the job of the natural cure to act at the core of the illness to provide a cure, whereas medication offered from the drug companies merely mask and maintain the symptoms.
