If you have children, a good way to prepare for the holiday is to color Easter eggs. There are many Easter egg coloring kits available to purchase and you may want to buy a couple of different ones so you can have some variety of decorations. Then you will need to buy some eggs. I would recommend a dozen eggs for each child that will be decorating. When you get home, you will need to prepare.
Some people choose to blow the contents out by poking two holes in the egg. One on the top and one on the bottom. This takes a lot of time, and it can get really messy and disgusting. I think it is better to hard boil the eggs, decorate them, and stick them back into the refrigerator till Easter. If you are not into the whole egg preparing thing, you can purchase plastic eggs and place stickers on them and fill the eggs with candy. Once your eggs are prepared you can lay some newspaper on the table and start to dye the eggs and then decorate them.
Also, you will want to get your children ready for the Easter bunny to arrive. Let them know that if they are good, the Easter bunny will hide their Easter basket for them on Easter morning and fill it with goodies. This will get them excited for the holiday. Then on Easter morning, they will be able to participate in an Easter egg hunt to find all of the eggs that they have decorated and their basket filled with goodies.
A lot of people go to church on Easter morning. Check with your local church to see what time the services will be. Some church will have special times for the holiday. Then when they arrive back from church it is time for Easter dinner. My family tradition is to have a simple ham meal, but you may choose to do something else. It is fun to have the family pitch in together in the kitchen, we always would prepare an enormous meal. There is nothing better than to sit down at the table with the whole family.
However you may celebrate Easter, it is always fun to get the whole family together. Some people will get with their whole extended family, and some will just get together with their parents. Whatever you do, just make sure you have a great day!
