What is Ecstasy

Ectasy is a dangerous drug that is being used by more and more teenagers and young adults daily. Chemically Ectasy is known as MDMA methylenemethampheelamine, long name for a dangerous drug, Ectasy is a synthetic psychoactive drug and has the properties of a stimulaant and of a hallucinogenic like LSD.

Ecstasy pills are usually about the size of an aspirin. Street names for Ecstay include "X", "E", "Roll" and "Bean" Ectasy can cause severe dehydration ans seizures. Ecstasy can cause increased body temperature and in some cases may lead to muscle breakdown. When a person uses Ecstasy they get this euphoric high from the release of seatonin.

Signs that your child may be using Ecstasy, they become dehydrated, they start to grind their teeth, they have defined mood swings, chills or sweats, sleeping problems, severe anxiety and may have panic attacks or severe bouts of depression. Physical signs are not the only signs of use of Ecstasy, if your shild starts to carry around pacifiers, lollipops, candy necklaces or menthalated rub. The child will use the pacifier or lollipos to help guard against teeth grinding. Candy necklaces are sometimes used to hide Ecstasy pills. Menthalated rub is used to overstimulate the senses.

Monitoring your children is an important way to help them remain drug free. Know where your children go, who they are with, ask them what they are doing and do not take no for an answer. If you think that your child is using watch for the warning signs and ten take action to seek assistance for them. I would rather that my child be angry with me than dead. If you feel that your child is in need of help do not be ashmaed to ask for it, you can call the Center for Substance Abuse treatment in you local jurisdiction.
