Physical Cleansing and Reiki
If you do experience any minor physical discomforts such as aching muscles, headache, sore throat, cold symptoms, constipation after Reiki as your body is cleansed and balanced, you might try the following to reduce the symptoms: take up some form of light exercise; take long walks in the country, drink lots of fresh water and eat plenty fruit. Try yoga and avoid nicotine and caffeine.
Spiritual Cleansing and Reiki
While studying and experiencing Reiki, your spiritual beliefs could undergo some change. Don't worry. Throughout life people go through phases where they might question religious and mystical beliefs and experiences. New insights will occur as you assimilate new ideas and values. You don't have to go through this experience alone. Talk to your Reiki Master.
Discuss your feelings with like-minded people. Read books that might help you formulate your thoughts and beliefs. Tell yourself that this is a positive process and all is well. Relax and let the energy flow.
Mental Cleansing and Reiki
Just as your spiritual beliefs might be changing, you might also experience some confusing mental and behavioural episodes. Past memories you may have buried could come to the surface. You might feel a strong craving for certain foods, beverages, alcohol etc.
Angry thoughts about past suffering, abuse, difficult experiences may come to mind. These issues are now being healed. Don't feel cross with yourself for thinking or feeling as you do. Acknowledge your thoughts and let them go or change your way of thinking so you feel more positive and hopeful. To help in your mental cleansing, treat yourself to something that makes you feel good; be kind to yourself; repeat positive statements or make firm promises to yourself for the future. Listen to your favourite music.
Emotional Cleansing and Reiki
Repressed emotions might also surface. You may feel angry, frustrated, fearful or upset. These emotions which may have been repressed in this life or a past one are now being released. Accept them as they surface and let them go. To help in your emotional cleansing: breathe slowly; take a long walk or a hot bath.
Meditate
Give yourself Reiki or get together with other students and give each other Reiki.
Remember that everyone experiences Reiki differently. Don't feel reluctant to discuss your experiences with your Reiki Master. Don't feel either, that you aren't going to be a successful Reiki student if you don't feel anything at all. Everyone is unique and everyone will feel Reiki energy in their own special way.
