It is important to get a full range of exercise which includes cardio and strength training. Cardio training involves raising your heart rate to the proper training level and keeping it there for at least 20 minutes.
Strength training is moving to obtain resistance, greater than the muscle is accustomed to, by using sets and reps. It is equally important to stretch to maintain flexibility therefore, stretching properly after a workout will greatly improve your strength training session.

You will be privately, weighed and measured once a month to help you chart your progress. The price of joining Curves is very reasonable compared to most health spas, gyms and other weight loss programs.
The Curves workout is based on a circuit system in which you will use machines that offer hydraulic resistance. Staff members will train you on the use of the machines you will use during your workout. Each machine is designed to strengthen different muscles.
At 30 second intervals you will be instructed to change from a machine to a recovery board for 30 seconds and then onto another machine that will work other muscle groups. You will continue to move in this manner until all muscle groups have performed a set.
You will be prompted to check your pulse rate to ensure that you are getting the much needed cardiovascular benefit at a safe and effective level. You will be encouraged to stretch at the end of your workout.
All this in just 30 minutes - Really!
You are not required to keep a rigid schedule however, training three times a week is recommended. The hours for most Curves locations are flexible so that you can train as often as you like at any time that is convenient for you. The only clothing requirement is that you wear appropriate shoes that are clean on the bottom.
Curves also has an excellent dietary weight loss program that teaches you how to reset your metabolism.
