What to Expect from a Glamour Photo Shoot Session

Sophie Spyrou
In a previous article, we looked at how to prepare for a successful photo shoot by taking the time to follow company instructions prior to the session, setting a reasonable budget and picking out outfits for the occasion. This article will focus attention on what to expect once you arrive at the studio. If you will be arriving for your very first glamour photo session, you will no doubt be feeling nervous and unsure of what to expect as you place yourself in the hands of the hairstylists and photographers.

Relaxed Atmosphere

The first thing you should try to keep uppermost in your mind as you make your way to the glamour photo session is the need to relax. After all, a glamour photo session is your chance to relax and let others take care of pampering you for the day. The staff wants you business, which is why they will want to put you at ease as soon as you arrive. You can do your part by letting go of any anxiety or apprehension you may have.

Walkthrough

Before any hairstyles are decided upon or any photos have been taken, you should expect to receive a thorough walkthrough of what to expect. A professional company will do all it can to let customers know of what to expect every step of the way, rather than leaving them in the dark until it is time to take the photos. Feel free to ask any questions and to let hairstylists know what you would like your hair to look like. If you have always wanted to see what your hair would look like sleek and straight, then make sure you let them know before they start working on your hair. The same goes for working with the photographers. Let them know how you feel about certain poses and if you ever feel uncomfortable about the poses you are asked to do, then make sure you make your wishes known. You should never be pressured to pose in ways that you do not feel comfortable with.

Choosing Photos

At the end of the glamour photo session, your photos will be shown to you and you will have the opportunity to pick the ones you like and discard ones that you would rather not purchase. It is up to you to decide if you just want a select few or a whole package. But bear in mind that many of the packages will be quite expensive. So it is a good idea to have a budget in mind before you decide what to settle for.

A glamour photo session will make you feel like a million dollars. So relax and let others make you feel special for the day!

Sounds like fun, although I think with digital technology you can do a less expensive version of glamour shots at home with your girl friends!

Nice article. I thought about getting a professional glamor shot, but never bothered. My sister' and her 2 daughters did and theirs were very nice.

Thanks for the comments. No, I had this done about 3 years ago, but the memory is still fresh in my mind.
