What to Expect from Matt Smith, the Eleventh Doctor Who
A Look at the Preview for the Newest Doctor Who Series
It seems that Smith may be a bit more action oriented then the last few Doctors. We see him punching a man, and grappling with a Dalek! We also get a glimpse at the new TARDIS layout, the Doctor's new outfit (a more professor look, with a suit and a bow tie) and the new companion, Amy Pond (played by the lovely Karen Gillan). Finally we get confirmation that "Geronimo" will be used a few times by the eleventh Doctor as a catch phrase.
But that isn't the juicy bits. We also got peaks at some of the villains! We get a peak of a Dalek who has somehow gotten a belt around the tank like suite filled with military provisions. Also the stone angels from the series three episode 'Blink' have returned as well, this makes sense as Moffat wrote the original episode, it will be interesting to see them return and to see the damage they cause. There are two views of vampires, so there is the normally super natural creatures for the season. And what has caused the most stir was the lizard like people viewed halfway through the trailer. It was initially assumed to be the Sea Devils and Silurians, then people argued that maybe it was something else and we are just assuming it was them. Thanks to some other recent spoilers and leaks, it is confirmed that they are the Sea Devils and Silurians, marking the first appearance of both species to new Who. I'm quite excited to see the Sea Devils back myself.
There was also a quick peak of one returning friendly face. River Song is returning as well. She was in two episodes also written by Moffat, the Silence in the Library and Books of the Dead from series four. She also may possibly be a future Mrs. The Doctor. It will be interesting having her meet the Doctor possibly for the first time for her at least. Ah time travel.
It seems that as a whole Matt Smith and Steven Moffat will be giving us a new and exciting Doctor Who episodes. There will be returning faces from both classic and new Doctor Who. Plus they have the benefit of Steven Moffat running the show. He has been involved in the show every series since it's been revived, has written episodes that have won awards for the show, and are usually considered some of the best since the show has returned. He's also a life long Doctor Who fan, and in a previous series he created, Coupling, he had one of the characters wear a shirt that read "Bring back Doctor Who". He has written half of the episodes this series, with other trusted Doctor Who writers filling in the rest. It should be an exciting and great series, let's bring on the newest Doctor!

Post a CommentThe Doctor has punched people in the past, even being a bit of a fighter in one regeneration. I don't think it's all that bad honestly. Much better then the clap your hands to make the Doctor more powerful Davies gave us. Moffatt has written the best episodes of new Who, I trust him 120%
Why'd he punch some poor sod in the face? A bit childish for the Doctor, and a highly inneffective way of making a point. Thanks a bloody bunch, Moffat!
Yeah they were assumed to be Silurians/Sea Devils, and confirmed once the season's call sheet was released that lists them for one of the episodes.
I didn't know that the lizard people were confirmed as the Silurians/Sea Devils, the looked more like Ice Warriors out of armor to me, but oh well. Having just seen "The Sea Devils" recently it'll be interesting to see them brought back.
