The games that many should pick up when Wii launches are:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
One of Nintendo's premiere series is getting an incredible makeover when it comes time for the Wii to launch. Confirmed as a dual-platform launch game (planned to be released on both the Gamecube and the Wii), this has been eye candy to many fans since it was announced. Many gamers are itching to get their hands on this game due to it's improved graphics, new weapons, and, of course, it's a Zelda game. The developers of this game have already dubbed it the "best Zelda game ever", so it has a lot to live up to. It will be the same story on the both platform, with only minor differences on the Wii itself. The game will use the Wii-mote on the Wii to control Link, as well as control his sword and array of weaponry he will receive throughout the game. The Wii-mote will also be used to solve certain puzzles that may be in the Wii version of the game. This game is definitely a must buy on launch, with the only question being which platform to pick it up for.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruptions
Another of Nintendo's premiere series, Metroid will make it's presence known in the third, and final, Prime game for the Wii. The game will play almost like the other two Prime games, being a first person shooter while incorporating all the Metroid items fans know and love. As with the other two games, Phazon will once again play a key role in the game. The mysterious substance encountered in the Prime predecessors, only this time the Phazon will "infect" Samus, ultimately giving her new powers and abilities that can be used in the game. The game will also take full advantage of the Wii-mote, using it to fire your beam, as well as the Grapple Beam, which will be used if you properly fling the controller toward the screen. Dark Samus will be back as well, as the creator of the infection of Samus, as well as all the Bounty Hunters in the game. If you were a fan of the first two Prime games, this game will be the perfect addition to your collection, as you will finally learn the true purpose of the Phazon.
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
One of the more unique games at launch will the be the second in the Trauma Center series, entitled Second Opinion. The game will play almost like the first, only instead of using the DS stylus, you will be using the (more-difficult) Wii-mote to complete your operations. The game will feature many of the tools used in the first game, along with some other tools including a defibrillator (which, if you don't know what one is, you should consult a medical dictionary). The game will take place at some familiar locations and many characters will also return. Awesome puzzle game and a must if you were a fan of the first game.
Red Steel
This game was demoed at E3 and blew a lot of people away with it's use of the Wii-mote. The game is a first person shooter and will take full advantage of the Wii-mote as well. Weapons confirmed for the game, so far, have included guns, Katanas, and grenades. The purpose of the game is to persuade clan leaders to side with you in order to take out a rival gang leader who is trying to accomplish the same task. The game will feature a very intense AI system, in which you will be able to decide who lives and who dies. Disarming people and holding them at mercy may cause them to switch sides and join in your fight and help you with certain tasks. One demo actually showed a Katana fight between the player using the Wii-mote and an AI opponent. The demo blew many people away at the way the Wii-mote responded. The game seems like a very good game to pick up if you are into FPS style games.
Wii Sports
A simple launch title is Wii Sports, a game pretty much created to show the capabilities of the Wii-mote. The game has been confirmed to contain a baseball game, a tennis game, and a golf game, all three using the Wii-mote to actually become the player. Swinging the Wii-mote will actually hit the baseball, tennis ball, and golf ball based on how you swing. Other sports games may be included in the package. The other nifty feature of the game is the caricature system, which will allow gamers to create their own faces for their characters, which was shown at E3, when Nintendo actually created faces for their top guys. This game might possibly be included in a package deal for the Wii, but would be a good game to pick up if you are itching to play a sport, but don't want to leave the house.
There are many other games to pick up when Wii launches, but these games are just the tip of the iceberg. Other games that will be available include Call of Duty 3, Far Cry, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, and Super Monkey Ball, as well as many other multi-platformers. When the time comes to pick up your Wii from the store, you will have plenty of time to kill with these launch titles. The Wii is expected out sometime later in the year.

Post a CommentTrauma Center: Second Opinoin is Actuly a remake of the DS version with a charicter selection type mechinisum and some more missions added on. And the best thing added is a difficulty setting seeing as the first version for DS was next to impossible by the end of the game.
zelda and metroid prime is a must buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't forget about the Virtual Console! ;)
I think this article is biased in my opinion. I tried to get the games many people are more than likely going to buy when Wii launches. I know there will be more, but I can't very well preview them all, can I? XD
