What to Expect in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

If you're someone who plays World of Warcraft on just about any basis, you've at least heard of the upcoming expansion in work - Wrath of the Lich King! Whether you've heard about it in the trade channel, or from a guildie, it's true! This expansion is supposed to be released to the public in November, and you'll have access to all of the features that the expansion will grant after purchasing and installing the addon. As of right now, almost everything added in the expansion is available to the public.

If you want to view the official Wrath of the Lich King page by Blizzard, you're going to get the most honest answers about the expansion here, however they're quite general and not very fulfilling, if you ask me. The link for this page is https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/. I find the video here to be somewhat informative, and quite awesome myself. You might enjoy watching the video and reading the general statements which are released to the public about the features Wrath of the Lich King will add to the game.

However, if you're like me, you want to know more. You want to know every little detail about the game, and what exactly is going to happen to players when the expansion pack is released. Well, I can pretty much clear up exactly what's going to happen when this game comes out.

If you've heard anything about there being a new battlegrounds map, it's true! The expansion pack will be adding a new battlegrounds map which is designed to represent a d-day scenario. In this map, one team attacks (starts at the water and moves their way north) and one team defends (starts in the north and has to hold a point). I'm not sure exactly how teams will be choosen, but I doubt that ally or horde will always either attack or defend; I'm sure that on different game numbers or possibly a random shuffle will determine who is attacking and who is defending. In this battle grounds, there will be siege weapons as well! I'm not sure exactly how these will be constructed, however I'm pretty sure that they'll be completely mobile, and you'll be able to take down enemy structures and objectives with these powerful siege units.

I'm sure you're all extremely interested in the new tech trees. No, there are not completely new spec trees. However, there are new abilities added to the bottom of every spec tree. Some of these moves are completely amazing. Have you heard talk about fury warriors being able to dual weild 2-handed weapons? It's true. With their level 50 spec (a second ability at the bottom of the spec tree) warriors are able to hold two-handed weapons in one hand!

Rogues energy ticks will be removed. No more waiting 2 seconds for an energy burst; instead you will regenerate 1 energy every 1/10th of a second; which is the same rate but much more efficient. Rogues will also get several new abilities, one which allows them to enter stealth repeatedly over 9 seconds!

All of the different classes have gained 3 more abilities, one for each spec tree. These abilities are some of the most powerful abilities in the game, and are very likely to change up pvp and battlegrounds situations. It will take some getting used to, but will definitely spice up the game play some! If you're interested in viewing the new abilities for every class (sorry, I can't cover them all in this article) check out the following link : http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=L

On to the death knight.. This is still somewhat hard to discover. I do know that only certain races will be able to make a death knight. I don't think all the talk about needing to have a level 55 character in order to create one is true. The death knight will more than likely be incredibly over powered, so be expecting to see a lot of death knights. Both alliance and horde can create a deathknight, so don't worry about that, either.

I hope I've answered the most general questions about Wrath of the Lich King. If you have a specific question feel free to post a comment. For more World of Warcraft information and tips, view my other articles!
