What is Fantasy Auto Racing?

Tired of Fantasy Football and Fantasy Baseball? Try Fantasy Auto Racing!

You've probably heard of fantasy sports before. Some of your friends probably play fantasy football during the NFL season or fantasy baseball during the MLB season. However, I'm here to tell you that many of you are missing out on one of the best fantasy games out there: fantasy auto racing.

I realize that you may not be the biggest auto racing fan. That's fine! No one said you actually had to love the sport that you play fantasy in. As a player myself, I can attest to how exciting it is to have a fantasy auto racing team.

Racingone.com and NASCAR.com offer plenty of fantasy auto racing options, but I prefer Yahoo's Fantasy Auto Racing game, which is offered free. In the game, you select two "A" drivers, four "B" drivers, and two "C" drivers for each race.

The "A" List is just what you would expect it to be: consisting of the best drivers that NASCAR has to offer. Former NASCAR champions Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, and Matt Kenseth are a part of this list, among others. You get to choose two of these big racers, so choose wisely. More often then not, they score the most points for your roster.

The "B" List consists of in-between racers, who are not necessarily at the top, but not weekly bottom feeders either. When thinking about drivers in this group, think about drivers like Kasey Kahne, Ryan Newman, and Jamie McMurray. They won't contend on a weekly basis, but if you play this group right, it can deliver big dividends and make or break your roster. Normally, one or two drivers from this group break out. This season, those drivers happen to be Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. They will most certainly move up to the "A" List for next season.

Finally, the "C" List consists of bottom feeders, non-full time drivers, and old veterans. Brian Vickers leads the list to date this season. Rookie drivers, more often than not, begin on the "C" List, and are a risky bunch to select because of normal rookie inconsistency. Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman were both on this list for their rookie seasons, as well as Hendrick driver Casey Mears, in previous seasons. The "C" List driver doesn't normally score high, but when he does, it can turn your team a nice profit.

Try fantasy auto racing out for yourself. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Nicely done- I really haven't known fantasy auto racing very much. And I didn't know you were on AC as well as Sportingnews!
