What is Your Favorite Fast Food and Why?

What is your favorite fast food and why?I am a New Yorker/Long Islander which means I am a child of variety. You name the culinary delight and I guarantee you it is accessible for me from Chinese to tapas, pizza to burgers. So for me to pin down m y favorite fast food is not easy, but I will try. If I am lucky in the process you will get very hungry.

First off though I want to state I hate fast food places. You know what I mean: McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut and so on. Super Size Me really scared me. I wasn't a big eater of those places, but now I really try to stay away unless completely out of options and starving. Afterwards I feel really bad about myself and go home and take a scourge to my back while begging forgiveness in front of a picture of Mario Batali. OK, not really, but I do try to eat real food made in front of me whenever possible.

So what fast foods do I love?

Well I love a tasty burger. Particularly a diner burger or anyone that is freshly made and juicy. For my money any independent burger joint is worth its weight in gold.

Chinese food or what Americans consider Chinese food. My particular favorites are sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli, duck and dumplings (fried or steamed).

Greek gyro/souvlaki or falafel is always great. There is a place around the corner from where I went college that specialized in Greek or once again the American version f Greek. I would eat there probably once a week.

Philly cheese steak: I would have to say it is the best thing to come out of Philadelphia since The Constitution.
