Full Hybrid is what you would consider as a normal hybrid without tricks. GM for example is trying a "new" hybrid system that really is just a smart alternator, giving a little push when it can. Full hybrids use gasoline as it's primary source of propulsion and then electrical for augmentation and lower speed and take offs.
GM, besides the "cheap near hybrid is also working on a slightly different concept. The Volt. It uses electrical motors exclusively, but has an on board gas engine as a "Generator". The Gas engine simply expands this otherwise just plug in electrics range. Range being one of the great limiters of electric cars. They are also designing it so it just doesn't have to be a "gas" engine, They are making the generator part generic so what ever engine at the time is the most efficient can go in the place of the "for now" three cylinder Isuzu.
I guess you could confuse full with more. Full hybrid seems like a very limited term
