The first tip is as simple as a thorough wash of their habitats and change of bedding. A tip would be to spend a little extra on some nice reptibark, to get the little snake really spoiled.
Next up you could get a new hide log or water tank. Petco and Petsmart have great assortments, and if cardboard and Tupperware have served its purpose for years, it might be an idea to upgrade.
What about a log or a branch to climb on? Many species loves to climb, and even if they're not arboreal it might still come to use. In addition it makes the tank look cooler.
Has it been a long time since the last time you replaced the temperature or humidity gauge? If so, what about getting a digital one for better measurement? This is something that the snake guaranteed will appreciate, and is a cheap and useful gift.
Speaking of temperatures, did you ever get around to getting the thermostat? If not then this is a perfect opportunity, and you can rest assured at night knowing exactly what the temperatures are in your snake's terrarium. Thermostats can be found in all price ranges, the best and cheapest one that I know about being the Alife thermostat from LLLReptiles.
A risky present to give is a gerbil. Especially ball pythons love this critter but they might get picky about their other food, so if you do decide to go with a gerbil only give them one. They are sure to love it, just watch your fingers as you give it to them as the snake is probably going to attack it much faster than usual.
What about finally finding out the sex? A trip to the vet could give you the snake's sex in a matter of minutes, and its name might have to be changed.
If the snake has grown a lot lately it might be about time for an upgraded tank, or maybe a new feeding tank. You could alternatively get some sweet logos to put on the tank you already have, to make sure that your snake has the coolest tank in the hood.
Which of these gifts would the snake like the most? I'm going to go for the thermostat unless it already has it. My pythons have that already, so they are going to get a gerbil for Christmas this year, and they are sure to love it!
