What Goes Good with a Prime Rib?

When having to take a dish for a meal with prime rib as the main course meat or fixing a meal with prime rib, one often wonders what is the best side dishes for prime rib dinner. Most people would choose a bake potato for a side dish. Smothered in butter top with, cheese, garlic, chives or other preference they choose.

Some also delight in the flavor of homemade rolls or bread to go along with the prime rib.

Horseradish sauce and au juice is favorite among others to flavor the taste of the prime rib to a delicious taste.

Side dish of steam vegetables are another great favorite. Green beans casserole is a holiday favorite, or green bean with onion and bacon simmered for a couple of hours. Corn smothered in butter top with a very light coating of breadcrumbs is another good example. Peas, carrots, squash or other various types of vegetables are a great side dish.

A simple side salad with lettuce little carrot shredded for color and couple of sliced cherry tomatoes are simple and a light side dish. Maybe served with a choice of dressings.

A simple desert is another type of dish to go with a prime rib meal. Small slice of angle food cake top with a spoon of strawberries with a smudge of whip cream is always a favorite. Other simple deserts that are not too heavy or rich tasting would be a perfect side dish to go with a prime rib dinner.

Some people prefer just a plain prime rib meal with maybe a potato and light desert. Prime rib meal should be light but yet filling. With the expense of the prime rib should be the main dish of the meal with the side dishes light to accompany the meal.

A nice wine or light drink would be another thought to add to the meal. Most people would like or need a drink while eating. A nice wine would make the perfect drink for the meal.

No matter what a person decides in making with a prime rib dinner, make sure it is light and intriguing just as the prime rib is. Since a person puts in a lot of work on making the prime rib keep it simple for the rest of the meal.

Planning ahead of time is the first option a person should do. With planning ahead a meal will go with out complication when serving prime rib.
