What is Going on in the Political World Near Dallas Texas?

In a small town near Dallas Texas, there are a few elections going on for the new judge in Paris Texas.

Who are these candidates, Judge Laughmiller and Bill Harris are running for election. Judge Loughmiller has been in office this term and is running for re-election. He has handled many cases at the Lamar county court at law office in Paris Texas.

His experience and training Loughmiller said he believes he has created a hard-working and smart court. Lamar County has allowed prompt access to the judicial system.

He also graduated from North Lamar High school a local school here in Paris Texas.

Bill Harris; and what are his credentials.

Bill Harris is asking to be elected County Court at Law as a Republican.

Harris has over twenty years of experience as an attorney including two terms as an assistant Lamar County Attorney, drug task force prosecutor. He has worked as a Senior Litigation Associate for the largest law firms in Texas practicing the areas of toxic tort litigation, commercial litigation, federal criminal defense and criminal appeals

His wife is also an attorney and has a private practice in Lamar County. Maybe these two can make a tag team duo in Lamar County's judicial system.

It seems like there is a lot to consider this year during the election. Both have a very nice back ground in law and have plenty of community assistance pull in the town. The Lamar County Court at Law was created to handle a variety of cases including misdemeanour cases, mental health, juvenile, and family law to reduce the over load on other courts. Some of the changes that we may see if Bill Harris wins the election are longer hours of operation at the court house. A three hundred thousand dollar budget to improve the judicial system in Lamar County and not going home until all the work is finished. He also seeks all personnel be prompt and ready to work by eight thirty am. This will allow more progress to be made and anyone having problems that need to be addressed will be able to get a court date or be able to speak to the judge directly.

We really haven't heard much from Judge Deane Loughmiller but the signs around town are defiantly an eye catcher. As far as Bill Harris, he doesn't have any large signs but he has some up as well and a website. We have not seen a website for Loughmiller.
