If you watch any daytime TV, you know who Cojo is. Steven Cojocaru, is a fashion critic who has frequented television shows such as E!, Access Hollywood, and MTV. He worked for the Today Show for four years. He joined the cast of Entertainment tonight is 2003 as the celebrity fashion commentator. He is also a celebrity commentator and interviewer for The Insider TV show. You will not see a red carpet without seeing Cojo.
While Cojo's fashion sense in on point, his look overall look is quite shocking. You could say he was the epitome of flamboyant, and reminds me very much of Michael Jackson, because of his androgynous look. From watching Cojo in action on the Today show and Entertainment tonight, you can tell that he is the life of the party, but recently, it seemed his light began to fade. The problem was kidney trouble. He has PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease).
Many fans first found out about Steven Cojocaru's illness when he went on the Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss PKD. It is rumored that this move to discuss the illness of the Oprah show lost him his gig with the Today Show. Polycystic kidney disease is a genetic disorder that causes cysts to grow in the kidneys. Many victims of PKD do not realize they have it until they are near kidney failure.
In the past 3 years, Cojocaru has had two kidney transplants with the second being from his mother as the first one became infected. Since the announcement of the surgeries, he seemed to return to his old self, but he just does not look quite right.
The problem is most likely to be the result of the anti rejection drugs which appears to have caused bloating and weight gain. When a patient receives an organ transplant, he must take medications to prevent the organ from being rejected. This is because the immune system is built to reject foreign tissue. Unfortunately, these drugs have many side effects. The side effects are the cause of his more shocking than usual appearance.
Some of the side effects of anti rejection drugs are high blood pressure, kidney and liver problems (which he already has), tender and swollen gums, loss of appetite, nausea , vomiting, or increased hair growth. If steroids are also used to help prevent organ rejection, the patient may experience weight loss and bloating.
Whether Cojo is suffering from side effects of his kidney transplant, or if he is having more health problems, he has many fans out there that are worried about him and wish him well.

Post a CommentI'm a kidney transplant recipient too. Those medications have issues. Particularly the steriods I imagine he's taking. Not only do they sometimes cause weight gain, they sometimes cause mood swings. I had the latter. My wife almost kicked me to the curb because of them. Not really. But there were times when I would look at myself after some outburst and ask "who was that?"
I wish him well.
Some of the medicenes that a person has to take after a kidney transplant makes a persons face bloat up and other body parts
its the steroids.
