What good is Google if you don't own a computer?
Millions of people don't own a computer. Google is useless to them. It's another technology out of their reach. In a struggling economy many can't afford a computer or computer services. A simple Google search will never be afforded. Some senior citizens balk at computers. They are scared of computers and have never even heard of Google. Paying the mortgage, providing meals, and buying prescriptions over shadow computer ownership. Many have use of a computer only at their workplace. Then again the jobless rate is at an all time high. If you don't own a computer it's getting harder to find public access computers. Even then it's never the same as sitting in the comfort of your own home and pounding the keyboard. Performing countless Google searches into the night would be prohibited in a public computer access venue. There is no comparison to owning your own computer.
What did we do before computers and Google?
Take a trip down memory lane. Sharpen your school skills, back when computers were absent in school. One had to rely on books and the local library. No sign of Google back then. Writing term papers and school reports were done with mind and research. Research sources didn't include a computer generated Google search. Do you remember catalog cards and encyclopedias? How about writing a rough draft and the use of index cards? Has computer use made us lazy? Who is to blame? Google or computers?
Just Google It
Google it, sounds simple enough. Unless you don't own a computer. Computer owners take their computer for granted. Even the business world would collapse should their computers crash. How can everyday people survive without access to a computer? Would you make it a week without your computer? How about a day? How do people who don't own a computer get through the day? They use an out of date old fashion resource. It's called their brain. Computerless people are smart people. They have managed to surpass technology. How many people do you know personally that don't own their own computer? How many households in the United States have computers? Don't know the answer- just Google it!
