With Their Backs Against the Wall, Can the Lakers Get Back into Championship Mode?

Where are the rest of the Lakers? Kobe scores nearly 40 and the team still loses. This proves that the most important mechanism of the game is "team-work", and team work was the display put on by the Boston Celtics. Despite Kobe's astonishing performance, the "Team", i.e.-Boston, still followed the words of their head coach. Throughout the game, Doc. Rivers kept telling the team to maintain their push and to get over the theatrics of Kobe, and with that as the catalyst of their game play, along with poise and ball rotation, the Boston Celtics came out victorious. They also put the backs of the Lakers up against the wall in a crucial game-6 coming up this Tuesday, June 15th @ 9pm/et. Being back in L.A. may be just what the Lakers need to regroup and get back into Championship mode, because their lackluster performance over the past two games has left them questionable.

Doesn't it seem that about only one or two people are putting forth all of the effort? Sure the bench players add some spark, like the push that Shannon Brown gives, or the hustle and bustle that is delivered by Farmar. However, these are "Bench" players, which mean that their role is like the role of the relief pitcher. It is to secure a win and to maintain a steady and momentous pace for the starters. Their 8-12 point contributions would be noticed more, had they entered the game with a comfortable lead to work with.

Even though Artest struggled to find his offensive game, he still gave great effort. Particularly on defense. However, where were people like Lamar Odom. It is wondered if the presence of his "Still-New" wife puts a damper on his games. Check the stats. He seem to not be able to score over 8 points in a game that she is in attendance for. Hmmmmm! However, even despite Odom's mishaps, others like Derrick Fisher could not get into their normal game. Instead of going tit-for-tat and crying and flopping over calls, perhaps the Lakers should have done the one thing that Boston seemed to do very well. Rotate the Ball! With crucial game 6 just ahead, will this defending championship team come back to their senses and do what they do best? Win Championships! Come on L.A.....Jack is counting on you.

Jack Nicholson may be considered the Laker's ultimate fan. He has perhaps proven this with his decades of appearances at Laker games in support for his team. Jack has truly embedded himself into the very fabric of the Staples Center.
