What Happened to Lindsay Lohan? How Did Her Life Result in Such Turmoil?

With Lindsay at 21 years old, she still had years of potential work ahead of her. She is both beautiful and talented. So, what happened? What happened to Lindsay after she became a triple threat, being a model/actress/singer, during the launch of her debut album in 2005? What causes child stars to fall from the sky? Perhaps, the events leading to her parents divorce in 2005 had a great role in shaping her today. Could her 'partying' and substance abuse simply been an outlet to escape the negative family events she was experiencing?

Miss Lohan was on an incredible upward slope to even greater heights in her entertainment career. To see where she is now, spiraling down is such an unfortunate tragedy. When I think of her ill-fortune, my maternal instinct kicks in because I feel like stretching my arms out like a safety net and saying, "Can somebody help me catch her? Please?!"

I remember the cute child actress in the Parent Trap as well as in Freaky Friday when she was a teen. I was so impressed at her ability to perform her role so naturally and with exceptional ease. It's so hard to comprehend all the ill-fate she has gone through since those last two movies. Her resume of productions is spectacular: from 100 print ads for Toys R Us to her albums, movies and TV appearances. Finding work was not a problem for the young actress.

According to the latest news, Lindsay Lohan is now in a Utah rehab center for drug and alcohol addiction. She was charged for possessing cocaine and driving under the influence of alcohol. Having been arrested for a DUI in both May and July of this year, she has been sentenced as any other citizen would have been who committed the same offenses. Apparently, no preferential treatment was given to her. For her two DUI's, she must stay in jail for 1 day, serve 36 months probation, engage in 18 months of alcohol education programs, pay costly fines, undergo 10 days of community service as well as speak to victims of drunk drivers at the county morgue for 3 days.

What is amazing is that Lindsay Lohan has voiced responsibility for her own actions by admitting to her addictions. She was quoted as saying, "It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs" in a statement released by her publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik. That shows hope exists for Miss Lohan because of her personal admission to her fallibility proves her acceptance of accountability for her appalling behavior.

Hopefully, Lindsay does overcome this sad episode in her life. Despite her continuous battle against the demons of addiction, her fans are still rooting for her as she picks herself up from the lowest of the low.
