What Has Associated Content Done for Me?

Cindy Wright
A lot of my friends and family ask me why I write at Associated Content. They want to know what I get out of Associated Content other than a few dollars. Well there are several things that I get out of Associated Content. I enjoy writing, I always have. Before I had a computer and found out about AC, I always had a pen and paper in my lap. I would write just to write. Sometimes I would write short stories or poems, other times I would just simply write down a bunch of nonsense because I was bored and writing anything at all was just a habit. It was like a compulsive disorder where I had to have pen and paper in my hand and be busy writing anything even if it was scribbles.

So the number one thing above money or anything else is I get to write. I can write about almost anything I choose, and as a plus I get a few dollars out of it. I started writing at Associated Content 2 years ago and this past year as really took a turn for me. First I discovered Taylor Hicks the winner of season 5 American Idol and I started writing about him. Taylor has a huge fan base and they would read each article I published about Taylor. Then people started commenting that they had read my articles at Associated Content and how much they enjoyed them. There is nothing that makes a writer feel better than to have people remember their name and something they have written. So because of AC I was getting known.

Then one day I get a letter from a guy who has a blog he needed someone to start writing posts for in the educational field. I started doing this and started making around $300 a week writing for the blog.

I was also contacted by a woman who needed articles written for her website about her products. She paid me a good price for my work.

However the best was yet to come. In December I get a letter from a CM at Associated Content asking if I would like to interview Taylor Hicks. Well now anyone who knows me knew that was a dream come true. Even fellow fans of Taylor's online knew this was something I was hoping for but never thought would happen. I had no idea how to ask for an interview with him. AC however did.

Since then I have went out on my own and contacted Katharine Mcphee, Kellie Pickler. Chubby Checker, Relient K, Ross Copperman and Bucky Covington and was granted permission to interview each one of them. So I have been able to speak with each of them and it has been a lot of fun. I have a few others I am working on and can't wait for them to go through.

The guy I write the blog for has just informed me that he has some posts he is going to need me to start doing and the pay will be very good. So what as Associated Content done for me? I have made some extra money. They have given me an outlet to fulfill my desire to write. In the process it has put my name out there. It has landed me other writing opportunities. I was able to interview my Idol, well my second Idol Elvis is my first and I also was able to speak with the legendary Chubby Checker. I have been able to interview other people that I like and have great conversations with these people that I otherwise would have never been able to have talked to.

Associated Content has given me the opportunity to make sure when I leave this world my name will carry on and my kids and grandkids will always be able to read something I have written and maybe through it all they will learn a little more about me.
