What Has Happened to the World Today?

There is something wrong somewhere. If you open up a news paper, you would find so many ugly things happening around. You see them on Television. On road or at public places, sometimes you witness someone is fighting. During any given day or night, you hear the Police siren so many times. Railway stations, Airports, the high level security welcomes you. Your bags are physically checked, scanned and what not. Every one is moving with a certain amount of fear in his or her mind when they go out. What's wrong ? What is wrong with this world today?

Gone are the days, when you were moving around without being noticed. Now days, you go any place, you are watched by close circuit camera. If you are little away from the traffic rules, you are captured by these cameras. You go to any places these security camera follows you every where. There is group of people watching closely on your every move if they have any doubt on you. You are not a free bird now as you were once upon a time. You enter office, big shops, restaurants, holy places, tourist places, airports, railway stations, you are watched by this close circuit camera. Your privacy is in total danger. Who are responsible for this? few bad people. Due to these few bad people the remaining have to suffer.

If you wish to visit any country during this summer, please check up the security norms at the airport and you would realize what i say. You even can not carry a water bottle at the airport from your home. You can not carry your home cooked food. The list is so big. You get confused as what's going on. Is there any end to this. A travel or a tour was, once upon a time, a very exciting experience. Now days a travel or tour means lot of tensions. Checking at various places is a big headache. Now they take finger prints, photo and all such things when you apply for visa. At airports, while check in and check out points, these things are verified. Your personal belongings are checked up throughly. The scrutiny of each thing is done carefully. You need to answer the questions asked by the athorities in a proper way or your entry to that country is restricted. You can not help any one at the airport since you don't trust any one these days. Why so? what's wrong?

Gone are the days when you watched the best classic movies like, Gone with the wind, My fair Lady, Sabrina, The Sound of Music or any comedy movies of Sir Charlie Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, Jerry Lewis. These movies were so good that we saw it many times. What you see these days is mostly violent or horror movies. Action movies have more demand. Action movies heavy collection alone speak their success stories. The production cost of these movies are very high. Yet these movies gross collection in first week around the world fetches huge profits. With a such a huge and sure profits, who would prefer to produce different movies? I don't say these movies has anything to do with the situation today. In fact, the cinemas, mostly are inspired by the true stories. So whom to blame? If the violent cinemas make the bad impact then, the good quality cinmea should make the good impact. But that necessarily don't happen. That would have been the easiest solution to solve all the problem. Coose any problem and produce a movie showing the solution and there would not have been any problem left on this earth. The problem is with us and not what we see in the movies or on television. After all, you buy tickets and watch these movies.

We have started living aloof from the society. How good we know our neighbors. We hardly have any contact with them. The relations arerestricted only to say hi and hello when we see each other. No one has time to understand each other. We all have become self centered. We hardly see any thing beyond us. We live in our family and home. Do we live in society with its true meaning? How much we care for the society? Social studies are long forgotten from the school days. What about social responsibilities. How well we conduct communication at our own home. Do we have time to talk to our parents or to our children. Every one is working mechanically. How good parents are we? It takes little time for divorce than from dating days to marriage. Why we can't stay with our partner with better understanding? We all think about our own frustration and ego. We are less worried about our children and the side effect on them when we apart.

There are so many good things outside home other than those television programs. I am not especially against television as they telecast some of the best programs for kids and for all ages. What we see mostly is, criminal content programs or an adult movies. It is our choice that we see good or bad things when we have much wider choice. The sports channels have variety of sports events. Why wrestling fights, rugby etc.are more popular is the main concern. Even in sports, there is a match fixing involved these days. Who are to be blamed for this. Bull fights and other animal fights are other popular sports. What these sports indicate to is main concern. There are plenty of good books if you visit any book store or in library . What we buy and select is our own choice. There are so many things which starts from ourself. Good or bad.

The animal world as compared with our so called civilized world appears more safe and clean. An animal kills other animal as a day to day food. There are many animals who do not hunt. An elephant is total vegetarian and survive longer on grass and plantation. Horses, Deer, Cows, Bulls, Buffalo and the list goes on. All these animals survive only on grass and water. They do hunt or hurt any one. Even wildest animals do their hunting when they are hungry. Otherwise they live happily in the forest. If killing animals was not restricted by the animal lovers, the so called civilized man, by now would have finished all the living animals under his hobby of hunting. We must thank animals, they never learned the art of hunting humans. Its the human in most of the cases, enters in their teritory and disturb their lifestyle. Its very rare when an animal attacks on the human and that too when it comes to save his life. But there are so many incidences where human and animal stay together with harmony. There is much awareness now in the society and animals are treated with proper care. Yet there is a much difference in the behavior. We have mastered the skill to handle these animals. We train them and show them all performing various acts in Circus. Is that what the animals are for? We use horses for rides by training them. We use animals for farming and dairy products. We give training to Dogs and use their sniffing skills to find out the culprits. We keep the animals in zoo and watch them from safe distance. I am aware as zoo administrators take due care of these animals. The question is, does these animals prefer to stay in zoo in the restricted zone or area which they get. In their own world they are living freely without such restrictions and hapiness. Are we not culprits here to interfere in their lives.

The human has come a long way with his immense brain power and intelligence. Just look at his creations which have changed the course of human life. He cultivated farms and started growing food grains. He invented electricity and put it in to use through various appliances. He invented railway which is till today is highest passengers carriers around the world. He invented vehicles. He invented planes which could fly at the height of 36000 to 42000 feet above in the sky and could reach to desired place within few hours. He landed on the Moon. The progress is still on. Manufacturing the fire crackers was mere a thing to celebrate the victory and pleasure to eyes. He invented atom and with atombomb, he killed innocent people at large. Kidnapping a child and asking for money from the parents soon came in to picture. Abusing little children and molesting them was the next story. Rappist was a new terror in the society. House breaking and murders were among the front line stories. Bank robberies to hijacking, every thing under the sun started to happen. Some smart people studied to hijack the entire plane with passengers. They know how to negotiate with authorities and demand their needs. Forging documents, fake passports & visas are common things now. Intelligent agencies work day and night to cope up with these few bad people. It's a battle between good and bad. No matter how tight and latest security majors you take with electronic equipments, few bad people manage to escape from every thing and succeed in their misiion impossible. If world best architects design some tall and famous structures, these few bad people blast them off with using RDX type material. Human bomb is new concept. This list is unfortunately unending. But this is where we live today in this danger world created by ourselves.

When you hear an incidence like shootout in school, it is really a worrying thing and cultural shock. When such things happen in schools or colleges, you tend to think a lot as why this happens? who is to blame for this? We don't learn this at home. Not in school or colleges. We learn moral things and ethics at these places. Yet someone does this bad thing which shocks the entire world. Where are we up to. From where this comes to us? We have forgotten every nice things we learned in school. We have forgotten every nice chapters from the epics. We have advanced in every field. We are highly qualified, specialized and what not. We are fashionable and know much about from facials to cosmetic surgeries to look beautiful. We know computers and make endless efforts to write programs to make our business more successful. We also write programs to spread viruses. The people are so smart now days, You might see your bank balance zero on one day and only to know that, someone has transferred all your hard earned money in to his account. Your credit cards are misused by someone smart. Where we learn all this? and why? We kill normal innocent people and even the Presidents. Suicide attempts are growing. Where are we going? Is there any end to this or not. Rash driving causes many accidents. Drunken drivers and cell phone operation while driving had taken large toll of lives due to lost control. Life is precious. Still these things frequently happens. Tell me, please tell me, what is wrong with this beautiful world. What's happening? And why? Is there any answer to all this. Can we expect a safe and peaceful world in future? Is that possible?
