Well, you could possibly panic and scream. However that would not be very wise.
Depending on where you happen to be if you panic and scream you could find yourself with a serious problem. So let's be serious what should you do.
Well first do you have a cell-phone, if you do maybe you could try calling someone maybe even the operator. However, if you have accidentally misplaced your phone then perhaps you will need to do something a little different.
If you were driving when you found yourself, lost, then you may be able to stop by a service station and ask for directions to where you want to go. However, you may do better if instead of a service station you look for a police officer, or taxi driver. Either of these would be more likely to know many of the streets within the area where you have found yourself.
Using a GPS can be useful also, and is included with some cell-phones' however, not everyone has a GPS available, and sometimes they do malfunction.
Now before we go any further, we may need to look at the reason you may have gotten lost in the first place, so maybe we don't have a repeat of this.
Were you traveling, across country or to a part of town you'd not been to before? If you were traveling did you remember to pack an Atlas and or a map? If you did not, then let's remember this for next time.
Ok, so the first thing you should do if you have lost your cellphone, forgot your map, don't have a GPS, is to not panic. You can get yourself straighten out, and back on track.
Just don't panic. If you had not been paying too much attention to the road then you need to look around and start paying attention. Look at the street signs, and buildings, things that are unlikely to move any time soon.
Also look around for a service station, a police station, etc. You can possible look around for a payphone; however, it has been my personal experience that there are very few payphones available. Possibly due to the fact being so many people have cell-phones these days.
Plan ahead for your trips, and pay attention closely to street signs, and landmarks, also study the route you plan to take. If you will do this you will be less likely to find yourself misplaced or lost.
However, if in spite of your best laid plans you do happen to get lost in your travels, remember to not panic. Also keep your gas tank full. When you stop to fill up your gas tank, try to stop at a truck stop to get gas. Because you may be able to ask one of the truck drivers for directions, as you wait in line to pay for your gas, or as you take a break for lunch.
Getting lost is time consuming, and aggravating, however just don't panic, because that will not help you any at all. It is also likely to cause you to get more lost as you drive around in circles.
