Show Love
The first and foremost thing you can do if you find out that your partner is incontinent is to show the same love that you have done before you knew. After all, your partner felt that he or she could love you and trust you enough to disclose such sensitive information to you. Your partner could have never told you at all, and then how would you feel if you just found out in another way, such as discovering it for yourself or hearing others talking about it? Perhaps, you'd feel betrayed. Because your partner does not want you to feel this way, he or she has taken the courage to tell you, and a lot of courage is needed to disclose something of this nature. It is also fitting to remember that diapers and incontinence do not make the person that you are with, the personality and virtues do.
If you are feeling grossed out about the fact that you have just found out that your partner is incontinent, meditate on what made you fall in love with that person in the first place. Do you like the way your partner treats you? Do you like the way your partner smiles at you and appreciates everything you do? Whatever made you love this person to begin with should be the reason you should continue to love him or her.
Be Supportive
Dealing with incontinence is very tough. Because of this, your partner is going to need a lot of support. What better person to receive support from than you, as you are the closest person to your partner. Strong support from someone who is dearly loved makes a lot of difference. It is what makes a person feel like he matters. If you want your partner to feel like you love him or her and that he or she matters, then shows your support whenever it is needed.
While finding out that your partner is incontinent can be a major blow at first, it gets easier with time. If you both work through this together, it will make your relationship stronger.
