Than I begin to imagine the detail of what such a place would look like, and be ran, who its target market would be. It was an awesome idea. So I goggled, wii gym business, and gym uses of wii.
I found a few places that use the wii as a personal trainer at their gym, that some gyms even had wii classes. And I thought ok, great there are some people that have similar thoughts as me, but are not using the wii exclusively as I had imagined.
Now, bear with me. What if there was a gym, similar to the curves workout for ladies. There were huge flat screens on the walls above the mirrors, and connected to each TV was, what I would like to cal a wii station. Each wii station had a game in it, so perhaps wii station one through four has wii fit, and wii stations five through eight have wii resort, and so on. The games that are available are cardio, toning, yoga, and sports type of games. Also connected to theses wii stations are blue tooth headsets, where you can listen to the wii station and or choose your own music to listen to. Instead of a circle circulation like curves, it's in a square.
Because the wii can have up to four players at a time, there are also a few stations setup so that people can workout together, and or create a team. Like say for example tennis. A few friends of mine walk to the nearest wii gym after lunch, because we have called in and made an appointment for the tennis wii station. All four of us arrive on time, and are ready to play a game of tennis.
Some games may be a first come first serve, but others will require that players call ahead of time, to be sure that space at the wii station has been reserved.
I am sure there are reasons why this may or may not be a great business idea. But it was a thought that crossed my mind, and I thought I would share. Many people develop businesses and business ideas every day. Some people run with them, and some people don't. I think that this would be a great business to run with. With a building, a few employees for admin, customer service, and trainers to teach you the best posture, and how to play the games, walk around and answer questions; this could be a very successful business. Buy about 25 maybe 30 wii's, advertise and open doors, and you are in business.
Yes it maybe harder than it sounds on paper, it always is. Of course you have to have a license, find a building, have hundreds of thousands of dollars in insurance.etc. But I think it is worth it to give it a try, what do you think. Would a wii circulation gym be a good business venture?

Post a CommentThe Wii Fit is nothing more than Nintendo's attempt to cash in on the recent fitness craze. The amount of calories you burn playing the most strenuous Wii Fit is minimal. For the price of a Wii Fit you can join a Gym and get some real exercise, or for free you can go to park and jog a few miles. The Wii Fit is a gimmick, nothing more, so save your money. You have to do real exercise if you want to lose weight.
