For example a lower end gun will chop pain, or break paintballs before they even come out of the gun. This obviously is no good, because how could you ever hit anything if just spray is coming out of the barrel. You would also need to clean the barrel every couple of shots because the paint would build up. The reasons go on and on, about why you need to get a higher end gun. Now once you have purchased yourself a gun you are going to need to get accessories and paintballs. When I say accessories I mean things like a CO2 tank, which is the force that fires the paintball. You are also going to need to get a paintball mask, preferably one that does not fog. A foggy mask while trying to find someone hiding in the brush can cause quite a problem. Sometimes however you may not need to purchase this equipment, as there are many packages out there that provide you with the gun plus all the extras. These are not the only accessories, and once you get into the game you will learn that there are countless things that you can buy. There are also infinite ways that you can upgrade or change your gun that you will learn about as you begin to play.

Once you are ready to play, and even after you have played a few games you are going to need to replace things. I don't mean parts on your gun, because if you buy a high quality gun, it will last for quite a while. What I mean are things like paintballs, and the CO2. This stuff can be rather costly, and can wear on you round after round. Paintballs are another thing that you want to look at for quality. If you don't, and buy bad paintballs, you will see that they start to break in the barrel, and can provide for quite a mess. CO2 really has no quality; it is just that you are going to need to refill it often. I highly recommend getting a spare tank, because once you run out you will have something to turn to instead of the sidelines.
