The problem then remains what to do with a child's one sock? As strange as it sounds, I feel bad or guilty about getting rid of the one sock, I am not sure why, but I have difficulty throwing away a sock.
I am typically trying to find ways to reuse and repurpose items so I am constantly thinking of things I can do to reuse the one child's sock that is now no longer part of a pair.
Here you will find 5 ways that I have reused and repurposed a child's sock and have either made sock crafts from a single sock or used the sock for household items.
Sock Creature Craft
Kids love making sock creatures from a single sock. One of the easiest ways to make a sock creature is by stuffing the sock with any type of soft material and tying off the end of sock, then in different areas of sock place rubber bands or twine to cinch off areas. Some of my favorite sock creations have been the sock snowman craft and the sock snake craft. Once the areas are cinched off, kids can add details using craft items, construction paper pieces and even nature items such as twigs. Kids can let their imagination go wild on this fun sock craft project.
Potpourri Sock Craft
Kid's socks are a perfect size to place your favorite potpourri in the clean sock, tie off and then place in a drawer to make the items in your drawer smell lovely.
Cat Nip Sock Craft
To make the cat nip sock craft, it is the exact same procedure as the potpourri sock craft and cats really love this fun and exciting cat toy. Plus it is an economical way to offer your cats a wonderful cat toy.
Golf Ball Sock Craft
Place a golf ball in a child's sock, a thicker sock works the best with this craft and tie off. The golf ball sock can be placed in the dryer when drying heavy items such as a blanket and the golf ball sock helps to keep items separated and moving in the dryer.
Weighted Sock Craft
Placing stones or any type of heavy, small items in a child's sock makes a perfect weight. I have used weighted socks to hold down a table cloth when eating outside, I simply tied a weighted sock to each corner of the tablecloth and the socks did a great job holding the tablecloth in place even with a breeze.

Post a CommentGood ideas! Isn't it amazing where the socks disappear to! I use one to wipe small surfaces, grill windows and even books!
