Silpada was started in 1997 by two women that wanted to do something fun to make a little extra cash. Silpada jewelry is made out of sterling silver with a variety of stones and materials. Each piece is handcrafted, so no two pieces are exactly the same. Silpada is sold only by Silpada Representatives, and not in stores.
The Silpada party I attended was held in the evening. During the party there were about a total of twenty women attending. We all talked and ate food while looking at the jewelry. I even tried on a few pieces and ended up modeling them for other guests. I think the best part about buying jewelry is being able to try it on beforehand. The Silpada representative had a lot of jewelry to sample, which made it easy to decide if I wanted a certain piece or not. A lot of the Silpada jewelry has beautiful designs, and some even look different depending on what color clothing you are wearing.
After trying on jewelry for about an hour, the Silpada rep. spoke for a few minutes about the company. She was very enthusiastic about what she did and invited everyone in the room to come to her for more information if they were interested in what Silpada had to offer. She also talked about the hostess program, where you could get up to 30% in free jewelry based on the sales from hosting your own party.
After the representative was finished speaking, she handed out order forms to all of us. We sampled a little more jewelry before filling out the form.
After placing our orders, we were told that the show would close within a few days and after it closed we would receive our orders in about a week. The representative even had a drawing and the winner received a polishing cloth.
Before the party, I had never heard of Silpada. Afterwards, I found out a lot of information about the company and would recommend to try it out if you love jewelry. If you are a motivated seller, you might even want to think about becoming a representative.
All in all, it was a fun relaxing girl's night out where we got to try on jewelry all night. I would definitely recommend attending a Silpada party. Even if you don't buy anything, it will make you feel like a new woman.
