What You Should Know Before Your Join a Multilevel Marketing Program

Chances are, if you have ever wanted to start an online business, you may have come across an advertisement to join a multilevel marketing company . If this is the case, there are some important things you may want to know about that you will have to endure if you join.

While some people do make good money with their multilevel marketing programs, most people do not tell you the about the hassle they are after you join.

For example, with multilevel marketing programs, you often have to bother your friends and family to join so that you can be successful, since many multilevel marketing programs base their compensation structure on how many people you can bring into the business. If your friends have never been highly irritated with you, chances are, that will change when you ask them to join you multilevel marketing program...

If that isn't enough, you often have to pay a good chunk of money to get started with a multilevel marketing program. For example, there is one multilevel marketing company (which will remain nameless) that charges approximately $500 for new members to join.

Often, multilevel marketing programs offer over priced products, and many of these companies make their money off of their members when you bring people into the business, and when you buy their expensive products for personal use. For example, the company mentioned above sells a vitamin that cost about $135 for a month's supply. Guess who often buys the product? If you guessed the people who belong to this multilevel marketing program, you guessed right!

Another disadvantage of multilevel marketing companies is that you have to go to all of these multilevel marketing program meetings, and listen to these multilevel marketing "gurus" speak about why their product is so great and why you and your friend's cousin's sister's roommate should join the multilevel marketing company. You are encouraged to bring your friends and family to these meetings, which can put a strain not only on your friendships, but also on your ears as well!

A great alternative to multilevel marketing programs is affiliate marketing. Unlike many multilevel marketing programs, with affiliate marketing, you don't have to bug your friends and family to go to any meetings, because everything is handled online. You don't have to deal with an "upline" or "downline" to be successful, because you are 100% independent. Affiliate marketing also has very low startup costs - you can easily get started for under $50, which you can easily turn into $5,000 with a little hard work.
