Motherhood is a precious gift. The delivery of your first child is an exciting but frightening experience. A new mother who is conceived with a child doesn't always know what to expect in the delivery room. Experienced parents are not always prepared.
As a first time mother expecting her first child, I too was not prepared for what was to happen. This article will provide new mothers with helpful information that I have managed to gather.
The first thing is to have two bags packed prior to delivery. This will save you time down the road. This is just part of the preparation of the delivery.
There are terms to be familiar with. It is best to be fully prepared for anything and everything. It is better to safe than sorry.
Definitions to know
A breech birth is when the child is delivered feet first.
An epidural is anesthesia injected into the back to help ease with the pain and contractions. It is a pain numbing medication.
A C-section is a surgical incision made through the woman's abdomen. The location is usually right about the private area. This medical procedure is performed when the health and well-being of mother and child are at risk.
An episiotomy is a cut to widen the birth canal for an easier birth.
These are some definitions to know about before your delivery. The more you know, the more prepared you will be for your child's birth. Every mother should realize not every delivery is the same. Some will experience complications and some will not. You should never compare pregnancies and delivery to others.
One other person is allowed in the delivery room with you. This depends on what type of delivery you will be having. As a mother, you can never be completely prepared for the birth of your child. Life is full of unexpected surprises.
Parenthood is a blessing. It is nothing to take for granted. Children are a beautiful gift. Motherhood will bring you happiness and joy for years to come. Raising a child isn't easy, but it will bring you many cherished memories. The birth of a child is a beautiful thing. All the hard work and pain is all worth it in the end, once you lay eyes on your bundle of joy.
