Laundry tips from the professionals.

-Wisk detergent is great, it will get your clothes really clean. It is the detergent that most professionals use because it'll get most dirt and grimeout of clothes.

-Always use the cold water setting. It will help to get stains out and conserve energy. Most clothing can be washed in cold water even if the label says to use warm or hot water.

-Use Dawn dishwashing liquid to get out greasy or oily stains. A small amount of Dawn rubbed onto the stain will do the trick almost every time.

-Never dry a piece of clothing that has a stain on it. Drying will set the stain in making it impossible to get out. Check the stain after washing and repeat spot removal before washing again.

-Don't add fabric softener to towels. It gives them a water resistance which defeats their purpose. To hold down static electricity, put a softner sheet in the dryer for only a fee minutes.

-Never dry t-shirts or shirts with printing on them. The heat will slowly melt the printing off. A t-shirt that has always been hung to dry, will last for years.

-Large comforters. Wash alone in large capacity machines. They need to move around to get properly washed. When drying, add tennis balls or a few soft towels. This helps to fluff and move comforters around, drying them faster. Check on the comforter every so often and shake it out if it gets twisted.

-Turning dark clothing and blue jeans inside out will keep them from fading so fast. It allows the wrong side of the clothing to the brunt of the heat and tumbling, making the colors last longer.

-Deodorant stains. Dab with white vinegar or liquid detergent let set a few minutes wait and wash in the hottest water that's safe for that fabric.

-Static. Put liquid fabric softener on a towel and put into the dryer. You can use it over and over again. Usually 4-6 times before the towel needs another dose of softener.

-Rust and Mineral Stains. Add a cup of lemon juice in the wash to remove discoloration from cotton laundry.

-Dirty Shirt Collars. Use a small toothbrush and brush hair shampoo into soiled shirt collars before laundering. Shampoo is great at getting out body oils which make up the stains around the collars.

These a just a few small tips to help you keep your clothes looking great.
