Lewis Debt Services is a collection agency that's been in business over 35 years and operates in the United Kingdom. They provide collection services for various accounts, including consumer as well as commercial. To collect accounts Lewis Debt utilizes a variety of techniques along with a trained professional staff which helps they meet, not only their goals, but the goals of their clients also.
Phone Calls
One of the strategies utilized by Lewis Debt Service is phone calls. When you are able to reach a debtor by phone you stand a greater chance of success when it comes to collection percentages and ratios. Contacting a debtor is one of the major obstacles that a debt collector can face. Speaking with a debtor by phone gives a debt collector the ability to find out the problem the debtor is facing and then, along with the debtor, put together a workable action plan to get the account paid off or an agreement for monthly payments. Debt collectors can often recommend different sources for a debtor to obtain income sources. Phone calls are made with a power dialer, which gives the debt collectors the ability to contact more accounts in a shorter period of time.
Collection Letters
Lewis Debt Services also sends out collection letters in an effort to collect past due debts. Sometimes a debtor only needs a collection letter sent before they will pay. If one letter does not work they will send several other letters, and each becomes more demanding or perhaps harsher in tone. Collection letters are sent from their pre-established source or sometimes they will have a letter drafted to specifically address a certain problem.
Legal Action
If a debtor does not pay after phone calls and letters have been utilized Lewis Debt Services will look to start legal action with the assistance of litigation clerks who are versed in all phases of the litigation process. Once legal action is pursued Lewis Debt is able to implement other strategies designed to collect past due receivables more efficiently and effectively.
Field Calls
Lewis Debt Services also has a team of collectors who perform face-to-face collection activities. This is a long lost art form. There are not a lot of collection agencies that still function in this manner. They go to the debtor's residence in an effort to make contact if other collection strategies are not working or they are not allowed for one reason or another. They also have an investigative service designed to make them operate more efficiently when it comes to locating information and assets relating to debtors.
Insurance Claims
The Lewis Debt Service also has an insurance claims division and they work with a number of insurance companies throughout the industry.
