What in Life I Am Most Thankful for in 2009

A Year in Review Full of Thank-yous

Jenia Silver
The year is coming to a close. This week is the biggest feast tradition to give our life and those inside of it a way to remember the great things big and small. It was not for the bad the good would not be so, this was written in the bible, and is one quote I can agree with. So, for all the bad and lost success in this year for me, I am great full for that as well.

Health, happiness, wealth are some of the wonders rewards of hard work. While I miss being employed, being a learning student, and having a significant other among other areas at least I am thankfully to notice I know what I want to do now. I look back at years ago when I missed family living in other states far away from me. That was the height of stupidity I see now. Why? Because, I had no direction to chase my shadow from or to. I worked like it was a second addiction, I was single then with no kids and wasted money left and right. Now I am the mother of four kids. One, the youngest lives with me. We get by with help from somewhere, somehow. I am thankfully more for my son in my life, more than I was ever to have had a job. He is my job at the moment. My distant family was always welcomed to be called dysfunctional, so they can stay in their homes in their states and email me the pictures of the holiday decorations and glee. My happiness began when I said good-bye to them, and experienced hard times.

For what I have learned and the things I have had the chance to do this year I am forever changed both good and opposite of that. Missing relationships of certain people and seeing others I hadn't in 5 or 10 years compromising peacefulness in me. So some say in with the new and out with the old.. I now say...it's all there in it's in own way. I parted ways, yes, but for what or why I am not sure, I just am. A better life is always the reason to do more to go places and seek joy. My life is getting better.

To the operators of this site, I am thankfully this year I finally wrote. Being wrapped-up in myself, I put of writing anything for almost 5 years. Now, in 2009 I write. I write things I learn about, or find interesting. I even joined face book, and linked in this year. My laptop I bought last year has been a great source of knowledge and a tool to communicate with. All my college classes are on line, and that is simple enough for me.

To the changes America is going through now, I am thankfully. Barrack Obama's presidency and the difference it makes effects me, too. For all those celebrities lost to death and addiction, may heaven be home. I am thankful to have been concerned to tune into CNN. Blog sites are also a good place to find chatter. So, thanks to all the on line people who have influenced my take on culture and opinions. The right to free speech is going new to new levels, and I want to watch it happen.

One last important note. On the culinary destinations of my choice. Thank god Vegas is full of buffets. I never grow tired of dining there. This year this feast is on the strip!
