If you like hanging out in your pajamas all day long and advising people to make changes that at one time in your life contributed to your own personal living hell, then you may be a good candidate to become a life coach. You have perfect on the job training already in that you are alive and face challenges and sometimes overcome them every day.

Once you are confident you're alive and face challenges on a daily basis you can dig into your perspective client's life and determine what issues are affecting their abilities to become successful. Organization is the key even if you have failed to stay on top of things in your own life. Get to know your client very well by taking time to interview them. You'll be surprised what they'll divulge to you.

You can do this before or after The Price Is Right, but not during, as this is your time during the day to unwind and keep a clear head. Other times off limits to work are breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon nap unless disturbed or woken up by one of your clients.

If you absolutely positively have to go out in public, make sure to look professional. You have to promote a positive businesslike demeanor. You must project confidence in how you promote yourself and speak in a clear succinct tone, even if you are not sure what you're talking about.

Sometimes a gentle nudge in the right direction can inspire someone to correct inefficiencies. A little critical analysis goes along way when pointing out misgivings. That's why your there, they've hired you to tell them the obvious, which is their lack of focus. When things start to get better for your clients, make sure you give them the appropriate validation for their efforts. This helps to give them momentum to visualize other solutions on their own while still giving you credit for renewed energy and focus, making your job easier.

Goal setting is an important feature of life coaching. When setting goals for your clients, make sure to have them pick lofty goals. That way if they don't succeed on every level, they would have at least accomplished other goals. As they succeed, you as their life coach succeed. You have accomplished your goal of getting your client focused on what's important and eliminating their inefficiencies. Your client's success may even catapult you into getting your own life and career in order. After all, you're a life coach and you have the skills to determine where problems lie and tackle them one by one.
