All different types of people think one thing is most important in life. It could be that you think your education and the work that you do is most important because your future depends on that and pretty much only that. Or you could believe that as a child, it's really important to have as much fun as possible and forget about things life work and school until you're older and a little more grown. It could even be as though you think you need to grow up and so responsibility is absolutley what you need to focus on.
Although when you really think about it, when everything is all balanced out and you play by the rules, life is awesome! A typical, good, balanced day for a twelve year old:
You wake up whenever [yourself], You eat a good breakfast [Health], Calling a friend and hanging out [Social], Going out to lunch and the mall [Fun], Coming home to do some writing or reading or typing online [Work], Eating dinner with family [Family] and then going to someones house to babysit to finish off the day [Responsibility].
Sometimes I can go through a day like this without even thinking of it that way. It's just a healthy, even fun kind of routine to do for yourself and I find that it makes my life easier and if there's something that I HAVE to do, it always fits under one of the seven categories to take that place for the day!
Really, no matter what age you are, you should balance out your lifestyle, but I've always thought of being a kid as never having to worry about that kind of important 'stuff' but the truth is, there's never ONE thing that's going to make it all right.
If you're a parent or an adult looking to help your child with this, you too should try it yourself, even if you work, take some time on a weekend or when you get a break to try a really easy and like I said, fun, routine. Then get into showing your kid(s) how to balance out their lives, too!
Like I said, sometimes they might be doing it without even thinking about it, so take note on how good they are already!

Post a CommentThis is a very mature outlook on life. People of all ages could learn from your example of the perfect day. I need to have more balance in mine - and I am 52 years old. Any advice for me?? Great article. Keep up the good work.
Great thinking on this one. Some adults don't even think about things like this. :-)
