Live Journal is a site that allows users to create their own page with journal entries. When the user signs up for an account, they have full control over their journal and administrator options. Live Journal is similar to social networking sites and blogs. The difference with Live Journal is you post journal entries and you are not as free to post photos and widgets like on other social networking sites. You can post widgets and photos, but not in the same way.
Live Journal's Journal Entries
Under the Entries menu, you can post new journal entries, edit journal entries, select your journal theme or template, customize your journal theme or template, manage your comments, manage your tags, and manage your view options.
Live Journal has a lot of themes for you to choose from. Most of the themes are uploaded by other users. Adding a theme to your profile can be done in a couple of clicks. You can also customize the theme the way you want it. You can upload your own theme and use it on Live Journal too.
With Live Journal, you can manage your comments by deleting them and editing them. You can create new posts and edit other posts in this menu. This is also where you would delete posts.
Live Journal Profiles
Under the Edit Profile menu, you can customize your profile by adding your favorite music, movies, books, and telling who you are. This is also where you upload your default photo for Live Journal. If you wish to add the schools you have attended to your blog, that can be done under the Profiles Menu as well. You can add as many default photos as you want and then select the one you want to use.
Live Journal Friends
In the Friend's Menu, you can add and remove friends. You can invite users to be your friends and you can manage your friends groups. To view your friends, add and remove friends, and chat with your friends, click the Other Friend's Tools in the menu. That will carry you to the page where you can do all of that. You have full control over your friends on your Live Journal page.
Love Journal Scrapbook
The Scrapbook Menu allows you to create scrapbooks of photos you want to add to your Live Journal site. These scrapbooks can be set to private or you can allow everyone to see them. You can also create and manage photo galleries from this menu.
Adding Widgets and Code to your Live Journal Site
There are two ways that you can add widgets and code to your Live Journal site. The first way is to add it in your general info page. This page is located under the Profile menu. When you hover over Profile, select the Edit Profile link. Then you can add the widgets and code anywhere on this page. Second, you can also add the widgets and code to your Live Journal posts. Whenever you create a post, insert the widget or code you want to use into the post.
Overall
Overall, Live Journal is great for keeping an online journal for your friends to read. You have complete control over the journal, the look of the journal, and the photos you add. Live Journal deserves 5 stars for providing such a great site.
