What to look for in a sun dress- style details
There are hundreds of different styles when it comes to sun dresses. Some should be packed up forever, while others give the dress an extra little something that makes it stand out. Things such as an off the shoulder neckline, a halter top, a few buttons, things like that, all make a sun dress a little more unique. These details also draw attention to specific parts of your body, so take that into consideration when you are purchasing your sun-dress.
What to look for in a sun dress- bright colors
There is no better time for bright colors than summer. When you've got a nice tan and glowing skin, the bright colors work in your favor because they show that off. Yellows, oranges, teals, any bright colors are great summer colors. Although bright colors are great for sun dresses, don't buy a sun dresses if it has a lot of different bright colors because that can take all the attention away from you and might even cause some people to have to look away.
What to look for in a sun dress- bold patterns
With every season comes new patterns that can be found on almost everything, so don't be afraid to try a bold pattern that you might not usually be willing to wear. A bold patterned sun dress draws attention to you, and it's the good kind as long as you make sure that pattern is not too crazy. When you do try a bold pattern, keep the accessories very simple so that you don't look like you have way too much going on.
What to look for in a sun dress- the right length
When it comes to sun dresses, there are really only two good lengths: above the knee and right above your ankles. A sun dress right below the knee can seem to formal and not as fun. Above the knee and right above your ankles are great lengths to show off your shape and still give you that carefree look that goes great with summer.

Post a CommentI am looking for a white sundress. Can't find one anywhere (that I can afford).
Summer is so much fun.
I love sundresses :) Sheri
I need to go shopping.
10 points for doing an article on sun dresses, Bob. It isn't easy to take on women's fashions.
I look for one that fits, lol
I haven't been able to find a decent sun dress for 25 years. I like the spaghtti strap, empire waist style, just not out there. I disagree with your length statement, however, mid-calf also is a nice length for a sundress. I am also so NOT into bold colors.
I am 50+ and still make sundresses the staple of my summer wardrobe. Around the house I wear them as is, but when I head out, I usually cover my shoulders with a bolero-type summer sweater or cotton jacket.
Bob, if I wear bold prints and bright colors, I look like a clown. Bold prints and bright color are for skinny 20 year olds. But then, so are sun dresses LOL. Well done!
Gotta love a good sun dress.
