When I first came into college as a Freshman, I had no idea what major I wanted to pursue, or even how to go about searching for a good fit. I signed up for general education classes, and then dove into the world of undergraduate research, trying to find a degree that I would like to pursue. Now, two years later, I am a Senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I am happy with the major that I chose, however along the way I discovered several other majors that seemed interesting. One very neat major that I found was Biological Sciences. In this article I hope to convey the purpose of a major in Biological Sciences and include the general degree requirements as well as possible careers that you could obtain by seeking this major.

With a college degree in Biological Sciences, you typically will be prepared to work in an industry based around understanding living things. Job sectors that you may be involved in could be government, clinical research organizations, and healthcare. In Biological Sciences, you will be prepared to work in a fields such as microbiology, evolution and human biology. There are several different concentrations to chose from within the biological sciences major.
