The CBS police drama "Criminal Minds" airs on Wednesdays at 9PM ET. What makes "Criminal Minds" so interesting and different from other police dramas is that the show concentrates on the criminal more than the crime itself. The characters on the show are skilled at profiling what they call the "unsub", which means unknown subject. They use their profiling skills to figure out what kind of criminal would commit the crime. The main basis of the show is that a specialized FBI team tries to get inside the heads of serial killers or other criminals.

The FBI team of "Criminal Minds" stars Thomas Gibson as Aaron Hotchner, Hotch as he is called by the team, used to be a prosecutor until he was assigned to the FBI Field Office he leads the unit. Joe Mantegna plays Davd Rossi. Rossi is the founder of the BAU. Shemar Moore plays Derek Morgan. Morgan is a very confident character and intelligent, who was a troubled teen, who worked hard to overcome his past. Matthew Gray Gubler plays Dr. Spencer Reid. Reid is a genius who graduated from high school at the age of 12. The other characters are introduced as Agent, but Reid is introduced to others as doctor. Because of his age ex-Agent Gideoon was afraid people would take him seriously because of his age. Kirsten Vangesness plays Penelope Garcia. She is the teams analyst and they call on her often when they need information. She and Morgan are very close friends and he refers to her as Babygirl.

When doing criminal profiling the team on "Criminal Minds" uses the evidence from a crime scene and other psychological information, and with that information they are able to specify what type of person is the most likely to have committed the crime that is being investigated. Viewers are amazed by the show and how they use the information to figure out the type of person, who is behind the crime and then find the criminal.

Understanding how the mind of a deranged person works, and why they commit the crimes they do, is something that many people find very interesting. "Criminal Minds" deliver this entertainment fix for viewers. Viewers are able to get into the minds of these criminals with the cast of the show as they uncover all the aspects of the criminal. Viewers can experience the thrill of the hunt from the comfort of their home. The cast is a believable and talented group of actors that interact together very well, they play their parts like they are actually living them, and many viewers feel like they personally know the cast.

What makes criminal minds so interesting is the psychological part of it all. Getting into the minds of others and finding out what makes them tick is something many people find extremely interesting.
