What Marriage Is

Hello, Reality Check Here

Tussy
Marriage is not a fairytale,

where the "Prince" is always charming,

and the "Princess" always loving,

and the "ever after" always exciting.

Marriage is not a fairytale,

where Princess bride is forever,

lovely, lovable and loved year after year,

by the Prince groom ever so dear.

Marriage is not a fairytale,

the stuff of dreams come true,

it is some sort of a hybrid shock,

of horror flick and sci-fi duo.

Marriage is not a fairytale,

where marital bed is made of roses,

instead, it is a load of hits and misses,

struggles which left emotional bruises.

Marriage is a responsibility,

one sign up for and agree,

there is no secret recipe,

just a couple working willingly.

Marriage is a responsibility,

best sign up for when one is ready,

for to achieve marital bliss,

a couple must work without cease.

I agree. Someone once told me it's not 50/50, more like 90/10 on each side. Good thoughts.
