What Men Will Be Wearing This Summer

Heather Wood
Men have every right to enjoy fashion as much as women and in fact, men's fashion now has come quite a long way. This year's styles for men will surely impress both men and women alike. Summer fashion trends for men this year are simple but colorful, relaxed but stylish. Furthermore, there is a strong emphasis on fabric, denim, tailoring, and patterns.

No matter where you go, office or golf course, a polo piqué T-shirt is the right choice for you. You can get it in different shades - from raspberry and turquoise to gray and orange. If that is not enough, polo tees are also available in a wide range of patterns, from stripes (often horizontal) to checks. You can wear it with or without a round-neck T-shirt underneath as well. V-neck t-shirts will also be a great summer wear for the casual man. If you prefer button-down shirts, choose pastel cotton poplin shirts with checks and windowpane patterns.

Even if your boss does not insist on you wearing a suit-and-tie as part of the company's dress policy, you can wear a blazer or sports jacket to stay warm and look professional. A blazer made of linen and cotton, or cotton and nylon (with a touch of spandex) are fantastic too. You can wear these with a pair of straight-leg pants or jeans, and over a polo T-shirt or button-down long-sleeved shirt.

This summer is likely to see more of tailored suits, with clean, straight lines, as well as linen as a base fabric for everything from pants to suits. Linen is cool and breathable, and softens your suit when blended with another fabric. You can get linen suits come in various colors like camel, navy and black, and are sure to keep you comfortable throughout a long workday.

With tailored clothes being the craze, straight-leg and simple slacks rather than baggy fitting or pleated pants will be excellent for men this summer. You can get a pair of pants in camel, gray, navy, or black to wear for work or play. Also, don't be surprised that denim (in the form of pants, shirts as well as jackets) is still as popular as ever and is still an indispensable element in men's fashion. Shorts in vogue are likely to be shorter than usual, but they may not be flattering for just anyone. There is no harm in wearing shorts that remind you of Bermuda, but try to avoid cargos.

Belts are a big fashion statement for men this summer, so wear it even if you don't need one. If you want a more dressy look, wear a black or brown leather belt according to your shoe color. For a casual look, a colored or striped canvas belt will do. Try to keep your shoes clean as they say a lot about you. Only wear your tennis shoes for jogging or walking the dog and even if you are in shorts, wear a decent pair of sandals. Make it a point never to wear socks with your sandals. That is a very tacky fashion mistake that many men make. Men's fashion this summer will offer you a lot of opportunities to flaunt your personality and express yourself while still looking a hardboiled professional
