What MissingMoney.com Offers; My Personal Experience

Find Money You Had Forgotten!

Daniel Erickson
MissingMoney.com is a state-sanctioned property claim service. MissingMoney.com is endorsed by NAUPA, the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators, and the participating states.

If you have ever had any of the following, you could be able to claim:

Common types of unclaimed property include, according to the site:

* Bank accounts and safe deposit box contents

* Stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and dividends

* Uncashed checks and wages

* Insurance policies, CD's, trust funds

* Utility deposits, escrow accounts

The website is very easy to use. All you need to do is type in your name and click "go." You can search specific states or browse through them all. If you find your name, or an address you have previously lived at, or think you may be able to claim one of the properties, you can submit your claim. You then type in your information to claim, and submit. If you would like, MissingMoney.com can remember your claim information for future or multiple claims.

My personal experience...

I went to MissingMoney.com, typed in my name, and about 70 unclaimed properties came up. I knew I have only lived in one state, so I narrowed the search. I found a few properties that were very close to matching me, and I put in my claim to see if I am accepted. That's it. I am now expecting an email soon to find out.
