Changes to MySpace Profiles:
Blogs- MySpace always had a place where you could blog to your friends. The change in this is that they once allowed you to keep the blogs private if you wished to. Those posts are no longer private. In other words, if you posted a blog there that you once thought was private, you may want to go back to delete them to be sure that no one sees them now. This is a huge breech of trust between MySpace and its users who trusted that the information they posted on these blogs were private.
The Look- The entire look of the MySpace website has changed. It is much neater looking, more professional. It has a gray and black theme now as opposed to the older purple colors. It looks very neat and clean as opposed to the more childlike look and feel of the site.
Like Button- MySpace added a like button to keep up with the FaceBook Like button. This is a nice addition because not everyone always wants to say something other than that they like the status. It's just much easier to hit the like button than to think of something to say.
Share- MySpace also added a share button to the site. This is nice as well because if you like something that someone has posted and you want to share it with your group of friends, you just click on the share button and you can share it with your other friends.
Ease of Use- Though faithful MySpace users dislike the new MySpace feel, people who jumped ship for FaceBook will find MySpace much easier to use now. It is even easier to use than FaceBook is. The buttons are more organized and things are just much more together than they have ever been before. You can even easily share music, videos and other media without any hassle at all.
Network Sharing- When you post updates in MySpace, you can now share that with FaceBook and Twitter without having to go to either site to repost. This saves time if you use all three sites. You just put your post up and it will allow you to choose to share with these to social networking sites.
These few changes made a huge difference in the look and feel of the MySpace pages. You will be surprised when you go into the site to check out your profile. It is a completely different site now which is concentrating more on media sharing rather than social networking. The great thing is that you can do all those things that you did before they changed the site, it's just better. The only fatal error that I see is that they made previously private blogs open for the entire world to see and didn't let users know about that change. That is such a major breech that it could cause major issues for the site. Other than that, you will enjoy the new MySpace.
