What Next for Emma Watson After Harry Potter?

What Does the Future Hold for Emma Watson After Harry Potter

The Harry Potter series of movies has taken Emma Watson from a previously unknown schoolgirl to a glamorous young lady, who was named this year as the highest paid female star in Hollywood.

Now that filming of Harry Potter is over, however, Emma is not sure that she wants to continue with acting as a career, and told Marie Claire magazine in the USA that right now her studying for a degree at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island is her top priority.

"Brown comes first, work second," is what she told them, "I want to be educated. I want a degree".

"I'm going to work for the rest of my life, but I'm not going to get this time back - this time to have fun and make friends, to be myself, to make discoveries".

It's always a breath of fresh air to see a clever and talented young lady like Emma who has not allowed fame to go to her head, and who is keen to make sure that she takes care of her education while she is still young.

It's not only her education though, since Emma has been busy working as an actress as well as studying at school since the Harry Potter series began.

Now is the best time, while she is still young to take time to enjoy herself, and what better opportunity than to be making new friends while studying at Brown University, and enjoying the best that university life can offer.

Emma revealed that growing up as a young actress she as given plenty of freedom, and never grew up as a Hollywood Wild Child like so many others. She had her first job at the age of 10, and has been living on her own since she was 17 or 18, earning her own money and traveling the world.

When it comes to having freedom, Emma said "I have had so much freedom, sometimes it was hard". She continued "it all happened so quickly, I didn't have any time to work things out. It's been pretty scary at times".

There are not many 11 year olds who suddenly find themselves famous, and there are not many parents who know how to cope with this too well, but fortunately Emma's parents did allow her to make her own mistakes, and this has helped Emma to go from being an unknown actress to a very famous movie star by doing things her way.

It will be interesting to see what Emma Watson decides once her obtains her degree at Brown University, which is a highly rated private Ivy League university, located in Providence, Rhode Island.

Will she continue on and take a Masters Degree, at Brown University or another institute of higher learning, or will the lure of Hollywood and more blockbuster movies beckon, and see her return to acting.

Emma is in London this week for the premier of the latest movie in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1, and was seen on Wednesday at a party hosted by Warner Brothers to celebrate their purchase of Leavesden Studios in Watford, which is where all the Harry Potter movies were made.

I have to admire young Emma. She has her piorities lined up well and will be happier as an adult that she chose to pursue a career. Kudos to her and her parents!
