I knew to expect nausea but had no clue it would be all day every day for six months. I Knew I would have to pee a lot but did not know it wold be every five minutes even though I did not start showing until I was almost 6 months and then It was almost over night. I had horrible back pain. Being only 4'9 I had trouble cooking and doing just about anything. I did not realize that I would get very little sleep due to the fact that I could not get comfortable. After my baby was born we wound up in the hospital due to complication for a week.
The night we got home he slept all night which surprised me because I had been told he would be up every 2 to 3 hours. But what killed me was that for a week or two he was up every 3 to 4 hours and then would sleep through the night. I could not get back to sleep and when I finally did he woke up. On top of it all he hated being swaddled and always found a way out. The only way to comfort him was to sing or put music on. I also learned why my sister told me when I baby sat her kids unless it was a poopy diaper not to change it every time the babies pee. But what I never expected was to be sad and happy the older he got and everytime he learned something new.
I never saw why everyone made a big seen over everything the baby did until I had my own.even though it is hard at times and could not enjoy my pregnancy I would not change a thing I love him very much and I now know what its like to see your baby and hold your baby for the first time. To hear their first cry to hear their first coo.To watch them learn something new every day and to see them smile and laugh.
