Anyway, despite all the pressure for Barack Obama to add Hillary Clinton on his ticket as his VP, Obama has instead chosen a selection committee to make the VP recommendation.
Gotta love the strategy of a man who many claim - "Lacks the experience to lead?!?!?"
Any who, Senator Obama, has claimed his place as the DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE and has announced a 3-person search committee for a vice-presidential nominee. The search team includes Carolyn Kennedy (JFK's daughter), Jim Johnson and Eric Holder (President Clinton's deputy attorney general). With this move, Obama makes it VERY clear that he respects wisdom and tradition. With this decision, he also lets everyone know that he is not going to rule by emotion, pressure and certainly without all the FACTS on the table.
This is such a proud moment in America's history, and the world is eagerly watching it unfold. I am really excited about the message that as a nation we can showcase the Democratic process while transcending any perceived differences (gender, race, etc). It is an even more exciting moment for us all, when we can walk one step closer to the elimination of blue and red states - as we simply build The United States of America.
Finally, when the Democrats meet in August, it will certainly mark another historic moment when Martin Luther King, Jr "Dreamed" of a time that we not judge people by the "color of their skin but by the content of their character." Call his all a dream, and unrealistic? Well, Don Quixote - dreamed the impossible dream and his story continues to live on. And what of Luke Beatty and his "Dream" for Associated Content -You're here aren't You?
So, I say: "Dream on People, Dream On!!!"

Post a CommentWhen Obama and Michelle gave each other the pound it was a beautiful symbol of affirmation of a job well done. :-) The media has not stop talking about it as if it's something strange.
I love the unity that the Obamas share. They are an excellent example of what partnership in a marriage is truly about. The "pound" that they gave to one another definitely symbolizes that.
