Yet, to a Christian it seems wrong to do something that only (and I do mean only) God should have control of. Taking a life (your own included) is wrong.
People have told me that if I was in the pain they were, they would be wishing to die also. This may be true and I really never want to find out; however, if I am put to that test, I will have to trust God to help me endure it until He decides it is time for my suffering to end.
You see, God put us on this earth. God is the only One who can and should take us off this earth. Absolutely nowhere in the Bible does it state that a Christian will not have trials and tribulations or pain. No way, in fact those trials and tribulations are God's testing of you to see if you will trust Him or not.
Pain can make people do crazy things. But once you are gone, there is no turning back.
Now let me get to the assisted suicide part. This should in no way be legalized. To me this is on the verge of murder. I know that the person is just trying to help keep the patient from anymore pain and suffering. Again, that is not their decision either.
Doctors try their best to "play God" anyway. Unfortunately they think they are the ones who really do cure someone. Sorry all you doctors out there but I am going to burst your bubble. A doctor can only (and I mean only) treat a person's symptoms and help ease the pain. A doctor cannot cure anyone. There is one Person who can cure anyone. He is the only Physician with a "license to heal". He is the only one who can decide it a person is going to be cured or called (to be with Him). He is the only one who can permanently stop the pain and suffering.
Now let me burst the bubbles of those scientists who are coming up with all these new "cures" for diseases and illnesses. You are only coming up with them because that is what God wants. If He does not want you to find something to help people, He will somehow prevent you from doing it. Sorry about that.
In conclusion let me tell you once more my opinion of assisted suicide. It is completely, totally, 100% wrong. God is the only One who has the right to let someone die. No one else on this earth should be able to decide when a person's life should end. I know there are a lot of people out there who will disagree with me, and I understand. Again, this is only my opinion. Thank you for letting me share it.
