Park and Fly allows you to stay at a hotel near the airport, usually a free shuttle bus to and from the airport, and free parking for the duration of your trip. This is a great option if you are traveling long distances to the airport because you can arrive the day before your flight and be refreshed the following day for your departure. There is also a savings in parking fees compared to parking at the airport.
For our last trip I booked the flight from LAX instead of Phoenix International and saved $300 per ticket. There were three of us traveling together so the total savings was $900. The cost of our gas driving from Phoenix to LA was $150 and our Park and Fly was $230. For the $230 we received 2 nights stay, the night before departure and arrival night, and 22 days of parking in a secure parking lot. We also had free shuttle service to LAX and back to the hotel when we returned. What a deal! My overall savings for using a Park and Fly package was worth the time spent driving from Phoenix to LA.
Not all hotels near airports offer this service but many do. You will need to search out "Park and Fly" on the web and you will find many helpful sites. The internet company I used to reserve my recent Park and Fly package was Trinity Reservations. I found they had the best prices with the best quality hotels and services offered near LAX. They service 23 other major airports at the time of this posting.
We chose to stay at the Custom Hotel only minutes away from LAX. Custom Hotel is a charming modern deco hotel complete with valet, concierge services, free Wi-Fi access, and they are pet friendly.
It was a great way to start off our vacation. We were refreshed the day of departure and ready for our adventure.
